He's Walking!!!

Nicholas has been taking wobbly steps for the past week or so but still mostly crawling. Well, suddenly today he has decided walking is his main form of transportation! SO EXCITING!!!! Am I going to regret saying that one day?!?

1 Year Photos

We took Nicholas to get his one year old pictures at the Picture People thanks to a gift certificate from Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Jay. They all turned out so nice and there were so many to choose from. Here are some of our favorites... We would have liked to get all of them, but we only got two for now. I won't tell you which two we picked, you'll have to wait until you get one! Which do you like best?

12 Month Update

Nicholas had his 12 month doctors visit yesterday. He now weighs 21 lbs. even and is 29 inches long. Everything checked out great! He got three shots which he wasn't very happy with :(. The doctor gave the go ahead for Nicholas to eat anything. We gave him a cup of whole milk and he hated it! He cried hysterically until I gave him another cup with formula. At 12 months Nicholas has quite a vocabulary and it is so cute to hear him say all those words. He says nanna (bananna), car, hat, hot, ball, baby, dog, bear, hi, bye, and dadda (not momma!!); and his two newest words are apple and nite-nite. This morning Nicholas walked up to his favorite book "Goodnight Moon" and said nite-nite. I thought that was so cute!!! He is still not walking, but is very close! He has been taking a few steps on his own but very wobbly. I've attached a video of him taking a few steps...


That is the 12 month news, we are so excited to see more changes as he grows! We'll keep you up to date!

Nicholas' First Birthday

Nicholas turned one this past Saturday! It is so hard to believe that a year has passed since his blessed arrival. It has been the happiest year of our life and we are so excited to continue to see him grow into his second year. It is amazing how much he has changed during the past year from a little infant who was only awake long enough to cry or eat, to a loving little boy with amazing personality. I found myself constantly remembering and thinking back to the day he was born this week and thinking how much he has changed our life for the better.

Nicholas had lots of firsts on his birthday! First haircut, first piece of cake and ice cream or anything sugary, first molar, first party!!!! We had a lot of fun! Chris cut Nicholas' mullet off and he looks so cute! Chris does a great job on his own hair, so we trusted him to do a good job on Nicholas' too and he did! We invited some of Nicholas friends, along with his grandparents, to celebrate. It was a great party, even though the house was packed from wall to wall.


My mom made a delicious carrot cake and Chris parents made cute party favors with a beautiful wooden car made by Pop-pop.
I thought the car theme was a good idea considering that was Nicholas' first word! We wouldn't have been able to pull the party off with out the help of the grandparents. Thank you so much!!!!

Happy Birthday to Pop-pop!!!

We wanted to wish Pop-pop a very Happy Birthday! Almost a year after Nicholas' birth, it is so apparent that Nicholas already shares a special bond with his grandfather. He is so very lucky to have such a smart, caring and loving Pop-pop. You two are going to have so much fun together as Nicholas grows! Thank you for being such a special part of all of our lives!
